This is a gestural painting that reflects an emotional response to world conditions. Sitting in a bothy thinking about things not usually considered, I found myself in the zone of abstract expressionism, not cool, but hectic. This work and the companion picture Approaching Calm speculate on the changing nature of how we cope with our way of life, our world and our attitudes. Hence the graphic nature of the works.

Jon draws on locations that have played a part in his ‘artistic journey’, exploring space, light and colour, and it is this juxtaposition. He manipulates emerging abstraction to express the essence of a particular ‘place’.
