Tree of Love 2

One of a series of paintings celebrating the emotional reaction to the colour and vibrancy of a bougainvillea tree close to a spiritual environment. It seemed to symbolize a new life emerging from disaster. This was a reflection of two paintings – Tree of Life 1 and 2 – and an emotional response to strong colours and form breaking out from seemingly constraining structures of ancient walls. An exercise and expression of freedom.
